Yes, I actually said this to someone on a cruise.

I want to be clear about my role in creating these songs.
I write 100% of the lyrics myself. Every word, every verse, every chorus comes from me.

For the music, I use an AI music platform as a creative tool to help bring
the sound I'm imagining to life. I can't read or write musical notation, but I've always had
a good ear for music and a very clear idea of how I want a song to sound.

And believe me, it's not simply typing in a few words and getting a finished song. Many
of these songs are at least the 8th or 12th versions or more, with one as high as 46 - no lie!
Two songs were on the first try "Restart My Heart" and "Here We Go Again".

AI generates the music, but I'm the one providing the creative direction. I make the
decisions about the musical style, tempo, arrangement, instrumentation, vocal delivery,
phrasing, and overall feel of the song. I listen, evaluate, make adjustments, and keep
refining until the music matches what I've been hearing in my head. Which at times,
is much easier said than done! What sounds perfect in my head doesn't
always come out that way on the first try - or even the 46th!”

In a funny way, the process reminds me of working with Jack all those years ago.
The phrasing isn't right - change it. The timing is off - change it. A rhyme doesn't land - change it.
The arrangement isn't doing what I want - change it.

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, until it finally sounds the way I imagined it.

And I have to admit, there have been so many moments throughout this process

when I've thought about Jack and everything he taught me.
I can almost hear his comments and critiques, and they still make me smile.

The technology may be different, but the creative process feels remarkably familiar.
I'm still writing the lyrics, trusting my ear, making creative decisions,
and working to turn an idea into a finished song. No matter how long it takes.

And in many ways, everything Jack taught me is still guiding me today.

Sometimes it almost feels like he's right there working alongside me again.

Here's hoping you'll enjoy the many different musical genres, and maybe

you'll connect with my lyrics, the stories they tell, and the emotions behind them.

How it feels to be writing once again.
